JCHS Students Return Home Following Student Exchange Programme at UiTM Pulau Pinang

On 17 August 2026, 11 students from JPMC College of Health Sciences (JCHS) safely returned to Brunei Darussalam following an enriching Student Exchange Programme at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Pulau Pinang, Malaysia.

Throughout the programme, the students participated in a range of academic, community engagement, and cultural activities designed to broaden their knowledge and provide valuable international exposure.

Their journey began with an orientation at UiTM Pulau Pinang, where they were welcomed and introduced to the programme. The students subsequently participated in the International Symposium on Public Health and International Community Services 2.0, which provided opportunities to attend plenary sessions, exchange knowledge, and connect with students, academics, and healthcare professionals from different backgrounds.

As part of the International Community Services programme, the JCHS students visited local schools and delivered educational activities covering topics such as healthy living, nutrition, mental health, bullying, cigarette and e-cigarette awareness, healthy habits, and adolescent health. Interactive activities, including puzzles, quizzes, crafts, and health education stations, were also organised to engage younger learners.

JCHS students also achieved an impressive milestone during the programme, receiving eight International Research Poster Awards comprising two Gold, four Silver, and two Bronze awards. The achievement reflected the students’ commitment to research, academic excellence, and their ability to communicate healthcare-related ideas on an international platform.

The programme further exposed the students to innovative approaches to healthcare education through augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) activities, providing them with opportunities to experience technology-enhanced learning and explore its potential applications in healthcare education.

Beyond the academic activities, the exchange allowed the students to experience a different culture, build meaningful friendships, exchange perspectives with their international peers, and create lasting memories.

JCHS is proud to welcome the students home and hopes that the knowledge, experiences, and connections gained throughout their time in Penang will continue to inspire their personal and academic development. The College looks forward to providing more opportunities for students to broaden their horizons through international learning and exchange programmes.
