On 16th November 2024, in a meaningful step towards environmental sustainability, students from JPMC College of Health Sciences (JCHS) recently gathered at Berakas Forest Reserve to participate in a tree-planting event as part of the Grow-A-Tree Program. This initiative aimed to give back to nature while fostering teamwork, collaboration, and a sense of community among participants.
The event was organized in collaboration with the Forestry Department of the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism and the JCHS Central Student Organization (JCHSCSO), whose invaluable support helped ensure the program’s success. Together, students and staff worked to plant trees, contributing to environmental conservation and raising awareness about the importance of protecting natural ecosystems.
The activity not only served as an opportunity to enhance environmental stewardship but also encouraged participants to strengthen bonds through teamwork and shared purpose. The students expressed their excitement and commitment to taking part in initiatives that have a positive impact on both the environment and the community.
JCHS extends its gratitude to the Forestry Department and JCHSCSO for their collaboration and guidance, as well as to the students for their enthusiastic involvement. This event reflects JCHS’s dedication to cultivating healthcare leaders who are not only passionate about patient care but also active contributors to the sustainability of our planet.
Through initiatives like the Grow-A-Tree Program, JCHS continues to demonstrate its commitment to instilling values of social responsibility and environmental awareness in its students, paving the way for a greener and healthier future.
